Lattice Gauge Theory

Calculations on the lattice

FAIR's experimental program will investigate a part of the phase diagram that is complementary to existing experimental programs, such as LHC and RHIC.

In recent years, effective lattice theories have been developed using analytical methods derived from full quantum chromodynamics, allowing various phase transitions to be studied.

One problem is that this can only be calculated under certain conditions. Within the framework of the research of the Helmholtz Research Academy Hesse for FAIR, new models are being developed here that allow these assumptions to be gradually extended. Thus, an explicit transition between the world of quarks and gluons on the one hand and hadrons on the other hand can be created.
