- received his doctorate in nuclear physics in 2005 and habilitated in 2011 at the University of Paris XI.
- conducts research on unstable radioactive nuclei and develops new methods for their study, for example, using new magic numbers
- has held a professorship at the Institute for Nuclear Physics at TU Darmstadt since 2017
