- received her doctorate in 2011 in Munich at the Ludwig-Maximillian University (ESO)
- conducts research in the field of observational astronomy in the area of nuclear astrophysics and stellar atmospheres/spectroscopy
- has been Professor of Observational Astronomy at the Institute of Applied Physics at Goethe University Frankfurt since 2023
